Easy Vegan Caramel Sauce

A deliciously sweet sauce that’s perfect for your waffles or pancakes, or put onto your baked goods! Super easy vegan caramel sauce fit for any occassion.

Sometimes you just need a caramel sauce on top of your waffles or pancakes! Even better when it’s a vegan friendly caramel sauce that requires no dates and is made with nut butter and maple syrup. How easy is that and how good does that sound?

I added this caramel sauce to these delicious chocolate waffles, served with fruit, coconut, buckwheat and freeze dried berries.

Note: This vegan caramel sauce works well with the addition of salted caramel protein powder. Simply add 1 scoop of powder after the sauce has been removed from heat and whisk in until smooth.

This also tastes great swirled around in a chocolate smoothie or stuffed inside cookies. The things you can do with this caramel sauce is up to you.

Recipe:

1/3 cup smooth peanut butter

1/2 cup maple syrup

1 tsp vanilla essence

1-3 tbsp water (to thin out if desired)

1 scoop salted caramel protein powder (optional)

Method:

  1. In a pot on low heat, add all ingredients (except water) and whisk until smooth.
  2. Add water one tablespoon at a time if wanting to thin out sauce and whisk until desired consistency.
  3. Take sauce off heat, and add optional protein powder.
  4. Add on top of waffles, pancakes, smoothies or other goods.
