Recipe: BASIL + HEMP SEED PESTO 💚⬇️ I will Recipe: BASIL + HEMP SEED PESTO 💚⬇️
I will admit, I am a massive pesto fan! Pesto potatoes? YES PLEASE
Pesto pasta? YES PLEASE
Pesto in general? YES PLEASE
So with a garden full of home grown basil it was the perfect opportunity to make some homemade stuff 💚
I seeked a bit of inspiration from @cafegratitude cookbook by using hemp seeds, I used my @hempfarmnz seeds 💚 recipe below ⬇️ but I have also made this with sunflower seeds instead of hemp seeds and it works 💚

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups washed basil leaves
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp minced garlic
1/4 cup hemp seeds 
2 tbsp sunflower seeds
Sprinkle of Salt + pepper

METHOD:
1. Add all ingredients to a food processor and blend until combined. 
2. Adjust to taste, add more basil or more lemon juice if needed. 
3. Store in an airtight container or use straightaway 🍃
4. NOTE: The colour of the pesto will change once it’s stored in a container!

This could easily be one of my favourite new smoothie flavours I’ve made! 
I’ve always been pretty hesitant about green smoothies but this one, so good yet super simple🤤
Super refreshing for a hot summers day, packed with spinach, pineapple and of course some @twoislandsco protein and collagen 💚

INGREDIENTS 💚
1 cup frozen banana coins
1/2 cup crushed pineapple with juice 
1 cup washed baby spinach
1 scoop (25g) @twoislandsco vanilla protein powder
OPTIONAL: 1 scoop unflavoured @twoislandsco collagen powder

METHOD 💚
1. Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth. 
2. If needed, add a few tablespoons of water to help blend ingredients.

These overnight oats are soon becoming a favourite of mine, and will definitely be a staple for when I’m back at university next month. 
I like to think of them as a healthy cookie dough flavour, and they pair perfectly with @thecollectivenz dairy free fudge yoghurt 💫
Made with rolled oats, cacao nibs, chia seeds, almond milk, and both @twoislandsco vanilla and salted caramel protein powders.

I will admit, I have been a little quiet on content creation as of late. To be honest, haven’t really had the motivation for it and would rather be outside enjoying the summer weather but as it’s a new year, I’m excited to get creating again!
With the countdown of a month to go before I head back to uni for the first time in 3 years, it’s safe to say that I will be cracking out some content before things get busy and crazy! So stay tuned for what the year has to bring I guess 💓
